Assistant CMT Lab Technician

This Opportunity WSP is currently seeking an Assistant Construction Materials Testing Lab Technician to support various projects in the Atlanta, GA area. Your Impact • Perform lab classification and index property testing of soils • Perform density testing of soils • Sample and test concrete in the field and lab • Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data • Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications • Will travel within and around 2 hours of the city • Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. • Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives. • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools. • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. • Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience. Who You Are Required Qualifications • High School Diploma or equivalent required • 0-2 years of related experience on variety of complex projects preferred • Certifications might include a combination of ICC soils, ACI concrete, ICC concrete reinforcing steel, and ICC masonry. • Valid Driver’s License required • Reliability – must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times • Ability to prepare reports and documentation • Ability to travel and work overtime as needed • Ability to work in variable outside conditions • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy #LI-GD1
