This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Vice President, Management Consultancy. The candidate may work out of any WSP US office. The WSP US Advisory practice is dedicated to transforming the business of infrastructure across the transportation, buildings, energy, water, environment, and power sectors. We provide our clients with the full range of strategic planning, organizational development, economic and financial analysis and project development and delivery services supported by WSP's engineering expertise in all infrastructure markets.
With changing economic conditions, evolving government priorities, aging assets and emerging technologies, clients rely on the Advisory Services team for its unique combination of infrastructure delivery expertise and management consulting leadership. We help clients develop, procure, manage, finance and invest in infrastructure assets to successfully deliver programs and projects.
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Business Transformation service area. This individual will join a group of trusted advisors in delivering business and operational solutions while helping to shape the future growth of the nation’s built environment. Your Impact • Lead complex and large scale Advisory Services projects within the company, ensuring project management, budget, work product, quality control and financial performance meet company standards. • Accountable for overall project performance, including timely completion, financial performance, quality of work product. • Foster “trusted advisor” service and future-ready solutions for clients. • Work directly with public and private sector clients to analyze and model business processes based on performance data, implement organizational strategy and business analytics, and identify opportunities for performance improvement. • Ability to evaluate current state across people, processes and ideally technology. • Recommend data driven improvements to achieve future state. • Develop and drive to completion action-oriented improvement roadmaps. • Translate client concerns into actionable scopes, sequences of activities and associated deliverables. • Familiarity with industry standard practices, business process mapping notation and methodologies. • Understanding of infrastructure / capital delivery processes, particularly in a transit and rail, roadways and/or power industry context. This would include moving through planning, design, procurement, construction, handover to operations. • Guide and navigate ambiguous environments and have complex conversations with clients and leadership to define scope and keep the project on track. • Ability to manage project and project team, including time management and working to deadlines. • Ability to work in a matrixed environment and experience with influencing without authority. • Independently perform complex qualitative and quantitative analysis, document findings, and present project outcomes to client executives • Work collaboratively with junior and senior team members to deliver to deliver excellent client services • Lead client meetings and interact directly and independently with clients to understand and address strategic needs for major capital projects. • Take initiative in developing technical excellence in providing high quality level performance • Produce high-quality, professional deliverables independently on projects and proposals. • Contribute and lead various national business development efforts end-to-end – from opportunity identification, proposal development, interview and negotiations. • Provide leadership for proposals and project work scopes, pricing, budget, and performance metrics for the Advisory Services discipline. • Serve as an Advisory Services representative/liaison to a variety of external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities. • Build professional network across industry to support business development opportunities, marketing, proposals, and cross-selling of other WSP capabilities. • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Who You Are Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field • 10+ years experience in directly relevant endeavors, particularly capital delivery for transit and rail, roadways and/or power industry. • Experience in designing and implementing process improvement practices. • Strong written and oral communication skills • Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence • Proven experience in consulting or a comparable role in developing organizational capability and performance improvement from within an organization • Hands-on leader, collaborator, individual contributor and strong team player, depending on context • Self-starter, who can get things done efficiently • Project Management experience - able to manage efforts within scope, schedule and budget
