This Opportunity WSP is in search of an Associate Civil Engineer/Designer for our Tempe or Tucson, Arizona offices. The successful candidate will provide support to technical staff, engineers, and project managers in the design and construction/post-design phases of infrastructure projects in the public sector. Work locally, think globally. Tasks may include basic assistance with the research, data collection, design, and concept development for the construction of roadways and highways. Task may require CADD production for generating project design plans and technical reports.
Your Impact • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, surveys, as-builts, GIS data, subsurface utility information, maps, geotechnical data, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction. • Assist with CADD interface and project setup and perform CADD updates as the design progresses. • Perform basic professional civil engineering design and calculations to support project requirements. • Advanced corridor modeling techniques and problem-solving skills during the development of the project. • Write technical reports summarizing research with findings and conclusions, generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using sketches, calculations, electronic systems, spreadsheets, and software. • Assist technical staff and project managers with risk identification and assessment, offering input and analysis with design concepts, construction, mitigation and improvement activities, and remediation projects. • Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work. • Complete training on assigned tasks. • Work collaboratively with other engineers and planners on projects. • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline. • 1 to 3 years of relevant post education experience.• Preferred person has Engineer in Training Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
