This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for an Associate Industrial Hygienist to join our Mining Industrial Hygiene practice. The position will provide technical support on a variety of industrial hygiene (IH) and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) projects, primarily industrial hygiene assessment planning, fieldwork participation, and sampling, reporting, and client communication. This position will be based out of Tucson, AZ office. The following locations will also be considered: Phoenix, AZ and Lakewood, CO. The position is anticipated to require periodic travel within the United States for work at client sites. The individual should expect to spend 50% of their time at client sites; each individual trip generally lasts 1 to 10 days. This individual should be able to conduct assessments at industrial facilities, including climbing ladders, walking up stairs, and carrying field equipment. You will be involved in projects within our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. As an Associate Industrial Hygienist with WSP, you will grow your career on a variety of project types. Our clients are mainly from the mining industry but can also include other industries such as renewable energy, manufacturing, transportation, industrial/commercial, rail and local government agencies. You will be involved in a variety of projects from long-term endeavors with established project teams, to short-term, quick-turn projects with self-driven groups and individuals. Your Impact Take the lead in IH-related field assignments such as performing industrial hygiene monitoring, noise assessments, hazardous materials surveying and abatement monitoring, indoor air quality assessments, chemical inventory assessments, ergonomics assessments, job hazard assessments, and similar assignments. • Assist senior staff in conducting EHS audits and EHS program development. • Collect and document field data and observations in a clear and organized manner utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment and workspace monitoring equipment. • Assist in the collection of environmental samples. • Analyze, evaluate, and interpret field and analytical data obtained during field investigations. • Evaluate findings, make recommendations, and prepare written and verbal reports. Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, accurate reports, and illustrations. • Write technical reports summarizing research with findings and conclusions, generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems, field/work site notes, and software. • Synthesize and summarize large amounts of information contained in regulatory files, environmental permits, and other environmental documentation. • Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work. • Complete training on assigned tasks. • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
