This Opportunity Our Industrial Water Treatment Group is seeking an Early Career Wastewater Treatment Engineer to work out of our Lakewood, CO office. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. Your Impact • Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal of developing technical, social, and ethical skills. • Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis. • Assist with bench-scale and pilot-scale treatability studies including executing test plans, data management, and reporting results. • Analyzing and managing water quality data. • Preparing calculations on equipment sizing, reagent consumption, secondary waste generation, etc. • Writing technical reports summarizing test results, technical information, procedures, etc. • Support preparation of final design plans and cost estimates. • Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation. • Coordinate with vendors to support procurement activities. • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are Required Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, with a focus in Water Treatment or closely related discipline. • 0 – 1 years of relevant work experience. • Demonstrated interest in Industrial Water Treatment or related field and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects. • Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience. • Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects. • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools. • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. • Authorization to work in the United States • Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this position. • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications: • Master's Degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, with a focus in Water Treatment or closely related discipline. • Engineer in Training Certification. • Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline. • A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
