Instrumentation & Controls Engineer (Generation)

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer (Generation) to join our Power & Energy team in Mount Laurel, NJ. The following locations will be considered: Houston, TX. Your Impact • Development of instrumentation and control design documents for power generation projects • Lead and support Instrumentation & Controls design efforts on multi-discipline projects • Instrumentation design and selection • Instrumentation installation design • Control System wiring design • Control System logic design • Control system hardware design and configuration • Coordination with colleagues in other engineering disciplines on multi-discipline projects • Coordination with clients, equipment vendors, and contractors on projects • Field commissioning support on project start-up efforts • Ability to work independently and efficiently with little oversight • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering • 3+ years of Instrumentation and Controls experience • Engineer in Training Certification • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s Degree in Engineering • Essential Professional Licensure • Previous experience leading a group of engineers is a plus • Experience with PLC hardware/software and configuration • Experience power generation processes or power plant control systems • Network and SCADA Design • Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Visio, Access, etc. WSP Benefits: WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career. Compensation: Expected Salary (all locations): $73,100 - $125,400 WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
