POSITION SUMMARY WSP is embarking on an exciting journey to transform the way our global IT organization delivers services, operates platforms, and supports our people. To accelerate this vision, we are establishing a new Automation Center of Excellence (CoE) focused on modernizing and automating processes across all IT functions. We are seeking a visionary yet deeply technical IT Automation Architect to help define, build, and scale this new capability. The IT Automation Architect will play a pivotal role in defining WSP’s IT automation ecosystem. You will architect automation frameworks, patterns, and guardrails, while driving adoption across all IT teams. This role blends deep technical engineering expertise with strategic architectural thinking. You will set the standards for how IT teams design, build, and deliver automation. This role is strictly focused on automation of IT-owned processes, systems, and operational workflows If you’re energized by architecting automation ecosystems, establishing governance, enabling engineering teams, and delivering real operational impact through automation, then this role is for you. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES • Define enterprise automation architecture, including frameworks, standards, guardrails, reusable patterns, and reference designs. • Establish a unified automation ecosystem across all IT functions aligned to the CoE’s vision and mission. • Develop the technical roadmaps for automation platforms, CI/CD practices, IaC frameworks, integration patterns, and event-driven automation. • Contribute to building and maturing WSP’s Automation CoE operating model. • Partner with IT teams to identify automation opportunities that improve reliability, reduce manual effort, and enhance service delivery. • Drive adoption of standard toolsets, coding practices, design reviews, and automation quality checks. • Architect automation solutions across IT domains including:• Cloud provisioning and lifecycle management • Network and security operations • Identity and access lifecycle workflows • Endpoint automation • ITSM / service request fulfilment • Observability, alerting, and automated remediation
