This Opportunity WSP is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Traffic Engineering Project Manager to join our New England traffic team in either our Glastonbury, Connecticut or North Providence, RI office. The ideal candidate is an experienced Traffic Engineer who is innovative, results-oriented, and team-focused. The Traffic Engineering Project Manager will bring leadership skills to help grow our business, oversee project delivery and staff development, and provide technical assistance and guidance in engineering and design for our local, state, and regional clients. Our ideal candidate has a proven track record of successfully delivering projects from initiation through operations and maintenance, with a strong focus on client satisfaction and technical excellence. This position will primarily support projects in Southern New England. Some project-related travel may be required.
Your Impact • Support the delivery and execution of project scope, objectives, and requirements, ensuring close collaboration and alignment with clients and stakeholders. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues. Ensure project deliverables meet high-quality standards and specified requirements. Implement rigorous quality review processes, manage version controls, and track comments and resolutions. Prepare and present comprehensive project progress statuses using reporting tools and dashboards. Monitor and meet defined performance metrics, tracking budget, time, scope, and communication details to ensure projects meet schedule and client expectations. • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and relevant standards. • Lead and direct multi-disciplinary project teams, including internal staff, sub-consultants, contractors, and vendors. Foster a culture of trust, transparency, and accountability. • Manage internal groups or outside vendors to identify, plan, negotiate contracts, deliver and monitor performance to client specifications. • Coordinate with various internal and external partners, including cross-discipline and functional teams, government agencies (i.e., DOTs), and other stakeholders. • Comfortably present complex technical and project information to diverse audiences, including executives, client teams, and public forums. • Contribute to and potentially lead the development of technical proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work. • Foster technical development and mentoring of staff. • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
