This role will provide professional surveying expertise throughout the project lifecycle, including pre-construction, construction, quality control, and closeout.</span></p><p style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The ideal candidate has strong experience in <strong>utility, transmission, substation, or heavy civil construction</strong> and is comfortable working in both field and office environments.</span></p><p style="margin: 0px;"> </p><p style="margin: 0px;"><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Salary range: $120-140K depending one experience </span></strong></p> <br>Responsibilities<br><br><ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Provide professional surveying services for major transmission and substation construction projects.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Establish and maintain project survey control, benchmarks, and coordinate systems.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Perform and oversee boundary, topographic, construction, layout, and as-built surveys.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Provide construction layout for transmission structures, foundations, access roads, grading, drainage, underground utilities, and substation facilities.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Verify construction activities and completed work against approved plans and specifications.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Perform quality-control checks and resolve discrepancies between design and field conditions.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Review survey data, calculations, drawings, and technical deliverables.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Lead and coordinate survey crews, subcontractors, and third-party survey firms.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Support project management, engineering, and construction teams with survey-related technical guidance.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Maintain accurate survey records, documentation, and project deliverables.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Promote and enforce safe surveying practices on active construction sites.</span></li></ul> <br>Qualifications<br><br><ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS/PS) license</strong>; ability to obtain additional state licenses as required.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">5+ years of professional surveying experience, preferably in <strong>transmission, substation, utility, or heavy civil construction</strong>.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Strong knowledge of construction surveying, survey control, coordinate systems, and datums.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience interpreting civil, structural, and electrical construction drawings.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Proficiency with GNSS/GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, and survey processing software.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D, TBC (Trimble Business Center) or similar platforms.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project, engineering, and construction teams.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Willingness to travel extensively and work in the field as project requirements dictate.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Valid driver's license.</span></li></ul><p style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><strong>Preferred Experience</strong></span></p><ul style="margin-top: 0in;"><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">High-voltage transmission projects, including <strong>345 kV and above</strong>.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Greenfield and brownfield substation construction.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Transmission structure and foundation layout.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Large-scale EPC or design-build projects.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Multi-state professional surveying licensure.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">LiDAR, drone/UAS, or other advanced surveying technologies.</span></li></ul>
