This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for On-Call Emergency Managers – Response. Since the actual work location will be the deployment site(s), these positions have the potential to report out of any WSP USA office, which could include Jacksonville, FL; Tallahassee, FL; Orlando, FL; Tampa, FL; Miami, FL; Birmingham, AL; New Orleans, LA; Raleigh, NC; Columbia, SC; Dallas, TX; or Houston, TX. Emergency management cadre positions are on-call and assignments are on an as-needed basis. Cadre members are not eligible for benefits. Cadre members are asked for a 30 day commitment; availability to deploy with little to no advance notice (typically within 24-48 hours); and during deployments, ability to potentially work 8-12 hours/day; 7 days/week. Your Impact • Operate as an integral member of the Emergency Management team, working collaboratively to provide services to clients preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters nationwide and in US territories. • Provide essential support for Emergency Operations Center and/or Field Staging Area operations prior to, during, and post-disaster. • Perform oversight of on-site duties including logistics, supply, cost/documentation and/or resource unit functions. • Attend periodic training throughout the year to maintain deployment eligibility. • Support Emergency Management Project Management functions. • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. • Execute additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are Required Qualifications • 5+ years in an Emergency Management Response role, or equivalent. • Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or similar/related concentration, or equivalent. • Broad knowledge of Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook (Email), Word, and Excel. • Travel Required - Must be able to deploy to disaster area, with little or no advance notice (typically 24 – 48 hours notice) and potentially for long durations up to a minimum of 30 days. • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies (DO Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening. Preferred Qualifications • Master's Degree in Emergency Management (or related field). • Asset Management and Supply Logistical Operational Experience. • FEMA Emergency Management Institute Independent Study - Professional Development Series certification (IS-100/102/200/700/800/815).
