Senior Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction/Bridge & Highway

Overview<br><br><p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt; line-height: 107%; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">MasTec Civil is hiring an Estimator to assist in the growth of our Nashville, TN market.</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt; line-height: 107%; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">This individual should have a minimum of 5  years of estimating experience + minimum 2 years of field experience in Heavy Civil Construction, specifically with roadways and bridges. line-height: 107%; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">• Understand bid items, basis of estimate, skills to identify errors and discrepancies in plans, and specifications, and solutions.<br />• Wide understandings reading plans, specifications, request for proposal, request for information, addendums, technical special provisions, etc.<br />• Build green sheet estimate, breakdown activity structure, construction schedule, and risk matrix analysis. <br />• Create job budget for awarded contracts.<br />• Understand bid strategy, cost savings initiative, and management skills.<br /></span></p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt; line-height: 107%; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">• Perform accurate, and within the time frame quantity takeoffs.<br />• Capable to individually estimate an entire job.<br />• Study and review all estimating reports: equipment total hrs., labor total hrs., key indicators, equipment balance analysis, etc. <br />• Constantly review updated DOT Standards and Specifications.<br />• Full review of bid submittal package, and lead estimating discussion with company executives.<br />• Obtain clarifications on plans and specifications from owner or engineer of records.<br />• Coordinate and invite suppliers and subcontractors to quote different scope of work.<br />• Analyzes suppliers and subcontractor pricing input when required.<br />• Build and strength subcontractor and supplier relationship.<br />• <strong>Complete understanding of unit cost analysis.</strong><br />• Assists to pre-bid meeting and bid submittals.<br />• Keep updated information regarding commodity trade prices.<br />• Keep looking construction technologies and techniques.<br />• Maintain continue education in construction: assist to engineering convention, forum, etc.<br />• Continue communication with field personnel (project engineer, superintendent, foreman, fleet manager, etc.) to track and adjust as necessary unit costs.</p><p style="margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;
