This Opportunity: WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior GIS Consultant to join our Power & Energy team in Boise, ID. The following location will also be considered: Atlanta, GA, Denver, CO, Seattle, WA and Minneapolis, MN. The candidate will be involved in projects with our Power & Energy Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. Provides support to technical staff, engineers, and project managers for the due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, design, development, and construction of utility, industrial, and commercial scale projects in the public and private sector. Tasks may include assistance with the research, design, concept development, and construction of transmission and distribution substations, power distribution, power regulation, renewable energy, as well as protection and control systems in a wide variety of contexts (utilities, transportation, building, and Federal, State, and local government projects). Generates accurate and concise reports and documentation regarding assigned material, installations, and construction specifications. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. Summary of Roles and Responsibilities: The Senior Consultant will have the following roles and responsibilities: • Lead consulting engagements with utility customers to assess their current GIS and define a clear roadmap for migrating to the Esri Utility Network.
• Provide expert-level advice on Esri Utility Network schema design, implementation, best practices, and integration with other systems.
• Develop customized strategies for utility customers, ensuring a smooth transition from legacy systems to the Esri Utility Network.
• Conduct workshops, stakeholder meetings, and presentations to ensure a clear understanding of project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
• Assist in designing, configuring, and deploying Esri Utility Network solutions that align with clients’ business needs.
