Senior Resident Engineer/Construction Manager

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Senior Resident Engineer/Construction Manager for our Denver, Colorado office. Other locations include Boulder, Colorado Springs and Lakewood. Be involved in projects with our CM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges Your Impact Pre-construction phase: • Conduct constructability reviews of design documents • Provide cost estimating and budget development • Help with bid package preparation and contractor selection • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other consultants • Scheduling and coordinating Pre-construction and Partnering meetings
Construction phase: • Monitor project progress against schedule and budget • Identify and manage potential risks • Review change orders and recommend approvals • Oversee quality control and safety compliance • Reviews project activities with client and contractor’s field supervision resolving disputes and other daily issues • Oversees materials testing activities • Reviews daily inspection reports and other project documentation • Facilitate communication between the owner, design team, and contractors • Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings • Analyze project data to identify cost-saving opportunities • Provide recommendations for project adjustments as needed • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Who You Are Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of CO or the ability to obtain it within 6 months. • Minimum of 7 years of relevant construction experience • A demonstrated ability to read and completely understand contract documents • Deep understanding of construction practices, building codes, and project delivery methods • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders • Proven experience in construction management, preferably with a focus on owner representation • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies Preferred Qualifications • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred • Experience working on city, county and or state construction projects • CDOT construction experience • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Highways; Rail; Aviation; Water; Mining
