This Opportunity About the Opportunity WSP USA is seeking a highly qualified Integration Engineer to support the implementation and closeout of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Training Center Project in Landover, Maryland. This facility is a mission-critical investment for WMATA, and the Integration Engineer will play a central role in ensuring all building systems, operational components, and technical interfaces are delivered safely, accurately, and in compliance with WMATA standards.
This role requires a strong technical background, proven integration skills, and the ability to manage multiple systems and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. The Integration Engineer will collaborate closely with WMATA SAFE, Transit Asset Management, the Project Implementation Team, contractors, and consultants to guide the project through testing, commissioning, certification, and final acceptance.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide technical expertise and integration management support throughout project implementation, ensuring system interfaces, sequencing, and contractor activities align with WMATA requirements. • Support coordination of system interdependencies, technical reviews, and constructability considerations. • Assist WMATA with start-up and acceptance plan oversight, ensuring all readiness and acceptance milestones are defined, tracked, and achieved. • Work with the WMATA Project Implementation Team on testing and commissioning, system integration verification, substantial completion, and final inspections. • Oversee the Site Safety & Security Certification process, coordinating closely with WMATA SAFE. • Track certification items, support hazard resolution, and ensure required documentation is submitted in accordance with WMATA standards. • Coordinate with WMATA Transit Asset Management staff to review the contractor-provided asset database for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with WMATA asset hierarchy and quality requirements. • Review and validate all as-built drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with field-installed conditions. • Support WMATA in ensuring that all O&M manuals and final documentation packages meet contract requirements. • Assist in the closeout of the GAEC and CMAR contracts, including review of deliverables, documentation compliance, and associated financial and administrative closure activities. • Help develop a detailed Lessons Learned Report capturing insights, issues, and best practices for future WMATA capital projects. • Manage final turnover efforts such as receiving and transferring spare parts and equipment; coordinating and documenting O&M training; and completing contractual, administrative, and financial closeout tasks. • Support WMATA in preparing the facility for operational readiness and user occupancy.
