Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Traffic Engineering Municipal Lead to support and expand our municipal transportation practice in Texas. This is a hybrid position , with flexibility to be based in Austin, El Paso, Dallas, San Antonio, or Houston. The role serves as the technical and client-facing lead on mid- to large-scale traffic engineering and active transportation projects for city and county agencies across the state.

This position plays a critical role in strengthening AECOM’s relationships with municipal clients throughout Texas. The Municipal Lead will serve as a trusted advisor to public-sector partners, presenting complex technical solutions, guiding safety and mobility strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role requires both technical depth and the ability to translate engineering concepts into actionable recommendations for stakeholders, MPOs, transit agencies, and regional planning organizations.

In addition to delivery responsibilities, this role contributes to business growth by supporting proposal development, preparing scopes and fee estimates, and helping position AECOM for continued success in municipal transportation programs. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise, sound engineering judgment, and established municipal relationships.
