Job Description

AECOM is currently looking for an experienced Program Manager - Water to join our team, leading some of the most complex programs globally. Your initial program will involve working on an exciting, deadline-driven key strategic water program based in the Greater Baltimore, MD and/or Washington, DC area.

These include programs of critical national importance in defense, transport, water, clean energy, environmental clean-up, international development and disaster recovery, as well as the shaping of many of the world’s major cities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage programs that are medium to large in size and complexity.

  • Provides the organization with technical leadership and strategic direction for program delivery globally.

  • Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • BA/BS in civil, environmental engineering or related degree, plus10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

    • Minimum of 10 years experience in water/wastewater industry, with at least 3 years leading projects/programs.

    • Demonstrated water/wastewater expertise with an aspect of program management valued by clients and peers to position and/or deliver programs.

    • Professional Engineer's License or ability to obtain within 1 year.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Typically, a minimum of 12 years professional experience with a least 7 years in a senior role within program management.

    • Developing external network of industry contacts and peers. Is known among clients for successfully leading medium to large size programs.

    • Has familiarity with the program management competencies within programs and applies these to be successful. Has developing experience managing others practicing the program competencies on a program.

    • Ability to mentor others in developing program competencies and personally growing through mentorship of others.

    • Able to develop strong relationships and manage all client stakeholders (internal and external).

    • Demonstrates exemplary leadership attributes that provide role modelling for others.

    • Able to build consensus to change program strategy in challenging situations.

    • Demonstrated ability to set long term goals and strategies and establish effective management of internal and external interfaces and interdependencies across the program.

    • Has built teams to enable collective success through trust, psychological safety, autonomy, accountability and alignment.

    Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $170000 to $210000.
